Rev. Jonathan Vierkant
Rev. Jonathan Arthur Travers Vierkant was born in Rusk, Texas on January 27, 1979. He was baptized into a covenant relationship with his Lord on April 20, 1980, and affirmed that covenant through the rite of confirmation in 1994 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tyler, Texas. He is a graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin (2001) and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis (2005).
Pastor Jon completed his vicarage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, from 2003-2004. In addition to serving parishes in Kansas and Indiana, Pastor Jon received his Clinical Pastoral Education training through Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler, Texas from 2007 to 2008. He served as chaplain for the ContinueCare (long term acute care) Hospital, as well as for a surgical unit and as on-call chaplain. Pastor Jon served as the first full time chaplain at Concordia Village in Springfield, IL – a Lutheran Senior Services community based in St. Louis, Missouri. He also served most recently as the chaplain and director of pastoral care services at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights, IL – a Lutheran Life Community based in Arlington Heights, IL.
Pastor Jon and Katherine “Katie” (Bowman) were married January 14, 2006 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lafayette, Indiana. They are parents of three children.
